Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated: 2 July 2026

its.gd is a short-link service operated by DOMU.STUDIO, Dominic Müller, Mainzer Straße 19, 50678 Cologne, Germany. This Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) is part of our Terms of Service. By creating, using, or sharing an its.gd link, you agree to this AUP.

1. Purpose

We keep its.gd useful by keeping it clean. Links are checked before activation and can be reviewed and blocked at any time. This policy explains what content and behavior are not allowed and what happens if a link violates it.

2. Prohibited content

You may not create, use, or share an its.gd link that points to or promotes:

  • Illegal content — anything unlawful in Germany, the European Union, or the jurisdiction of the visitor, including content that violates §§ 86, 86a, 111, 130, 131, 184b, 184c StGB.
  • Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) — zero tolerance. Reported to competent authorities.
  • Phishing and credential theft — fake login pages, impersonation of banks, payment providers, mail providers, government services, or the its.gd brand itself.
  • Malware and unwanted software — drive-by downloads, exploit kits, ransomware, spyware, cryptominers, unwanted browser extensions, fake updates.
  • Scams and fraud — advance-fee, romance, investment, crypto rug-pulls, fake shops, fake giveaways, deceptive affiliate cloaking.
  • Harassment, threats, doxxing, or content that targets a person or group with hatred or violence.
  • Non-consensual intimate imagery, sexual content depicting minors or ambiguous ages, or deepfake sexual content.
  • Terrorist or violent extremist content as defined by Regulation (EU) 2021/784.
  • Copyright, trademark, or trade-secret infringement, including cloaking to piracy sites, stream rippers targeting protected works, or counterfeit-goods storefronts.
  • Regulated goods sold without required authorization — narcotics, prescription pharmaceuticals, weapons, ammunition, forged documents.
  • Sanctions evasion or content that violates EU/US sanctions.
  • Adult content on shared or vanity slugs designed to trick minors or the general public into clicking.
  • Traffic to sites that severely harm the user experience — forced redirect chains, tab-jacking, browser lockers, fake virus alerts.

3. Prohibited behavior

  • Bypassing safety checks, obfuscating the true destination, or rotating destinations after review to evade moderation.
  • Abuse of the shortener — bulk auto-generation, spam distribution, SEO cloaking, or use as a redirector for another URL shortener to bury the real destination.
  • Impersonating its.gd, DOMU.STUDIO, or another person or organization in the slug, destination, or surrounding communication.
  • Scraping, probing, or overloading its.gd infrastructure; interfering with other users' links; attempting to hijack a slug you do not own.
  • Using its.gd for unsolicited bulk email (spam) in violation of § 7 UWG, the ePrivacy Directive, or CAN-SPAM.

4. Destination is locked

To keep short links trustworthy, the destination of a link cannot be changed after creation. If you need a different destination, cancel the link and create a new one. Rotating destinations to bait-and-switch users is a violation of this AUP and grounds for termination.

5. Enforcement

When we identify a violation — through automated checks, a notice under DSA Art. 16, a court or authority order, or manual review — we may:

  • Show a warning interstitial before the destination.
  • Suspend the redirect and display a takedown notice.
  • Permanently disable the link.
  • Terminate the associated account and refund unearned portions of paid periods where required.
  • Preserve logs and cooperate with law enforcement where legally required.

We aim to act on confirmed abuse without undue delay, typically within 24 hours of a valid notice. Severe threats (active phishing, malware, CSAM) are handled with priority.

6. Statement of reasons and appeals

Where required by DSA Art. 17, we provide a clear statement of reasons to the affected user, including the factual and legal basis of the decision, the type of restriction, and information about redress. If you believe your link was restricted in error, you can appeal within six months by replying to the decision email or writing to contact@domu.studio. We review appeals under human oversight.

You may also use out-of-court dispute settlement (DSA Art. 21) or seek judicial redress at your competent court.

7. Reporting abuse

Anyone can report a link. The fastest path is the notice-and-action form. For urgent security threats (active phishing, malware, CSAM), email contact@domu.studio. We accept notices from individuals, rights holders, public authorities, and DSA-recognized Trusted Flaggers.

8. Changes

We may update this AUP to address new abuse patterns or legal requirements. Material changes will be communicated on its.gd. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
